A new Emily Osment takes on the Quick Chek balloon fest

The 18-year old co-star of the Disney smash "Hannah Montana'' is facing the moment when she transitions away from being a child star to a young adult performer.
It's a move fraught with danger for a burgeoning career, as Disney stars such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Osment's recent co-star, Miley Cyrus, already know.
Osment seems ready for it.
"It's not as hard as you think, when you have this idea of what type of music you want to play,'' said Osment, who performs on Saturday at the Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning at the Solberg Airport in Readington. "I'm not trying to have this image of the Disney girl-turned-whatever. It's music that I love, and I'm playing music that I love. It's music that I want to make, and I'm not trying to make anybody happy but me and my fans. That's what's important to me. I'm not trying to be anybody I'm not, because that's how you lose it.''
To this point, Osment's musical output has been largely pop-oriented alt-rock. A new track, "Let's Be Friends,'' from her upcoming album, due in the fall, sees the musician delving into an electro-rock vibe. ... Read More ...

Osment Gearing Up for Big Tour

Playing Hannah Montana’s best friend Lilly Truscott opposite Miley Cyrus on the popular Disney Channel series for the last four years has definitely worked out for Emily Osment, but she is ready to make the transition to film actress, singer-songwriter and student.
Especially since Hannah Montana’s final season is set to begin airing in July.
“We really are a family,” said Los Angeles-native Osment, 18, who was in Toronto recently for a showcase performance at The Spoke Club.
“I grew up with those people. It was pretty much all of my teen years. I mean, I’ve known Miley since she was 12 and it has been such an amazing process. It’s great because we’ve had pretty much the same writers, same cast, same crew throughout the entire four years, so of course it’ll be very bittersweet.
We know it’s coming. We’ve done 88 or 89 episodes and we’re getting to 101; it’ll be a nice little end but it shall be sad.” ... Read More ...

Hannah Montana ends: Cast Embarks on New Journey

Miley Cyrus and rest of the Hannah Montana team has finished shooting for the series and as it happens May 14, 2010 was the last day of the shooting. It’s sure we will miss the teenage superstar who loves the stardom as well as the normal life. She is a gawky teenager as well as a mischievous popstar. She has her crushes and her heartbreaks and her unique set of friends and a brother and father who supports her. But Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana is ready to say adieu and embark on a new road.
Miley already has a flourishing singing career as well as have taken the step towards the movie business too with The Last Song. She is also in the process of transforming herself from a teenager to that of a young bold, sexy lady. Emily Osment aka Lily is ready to focus on her singing career.
Oliver aka Mitchel Musso is teaming up with Doc Show on Pair of Kings on Disney XD so we will be seeing him pretty soon. While the other cast members will start to have a career sans Hannah Montana. What will it be, we are not sure yet, but we do hope we will see them soon enough. But what ever they do, we wish them all the best with their future endeavours.

Disney stars, 'Idol' winner slated for in-park concerts

Disney Channel stars will be featured at two of the three in-park concerts scheduled at Darien Lake Theme Park.
The series begins May 22 with Imagination Movers, a quartet of musicians who also come up with creative solutions to a variety problems on their Disney Channel series. They’ll share the date with Choo-Choo Soul, a Disney shorts program.
The third concert on June 26 features Disney Channel stars Mitchel Musso and Emily Osment of “Hannah Montana” and several of the channel’s original movies.
